See The Unseen . . .
Writers tell stories with words. Actors tell stories with actions. Directors, arguably the most important part of the movie process, tell stories with pictures.
Movies are a combination between actors, directors, and cinematographers. Each has a role to make the story come alive. As we study the process, from conception to production, you will see that each of these helps the other create a vision for the story being told.
In this unit, we will be looking at pictures and frames to examine how directors help us enter into their dream. Through storyboards, picture taking, reading and viewing movies, we will look at how the visual presentation creates an emotional impact. We will use that knowledge to write reviews, frame scenes, and create a miniature productions studio right here in the classroom.
