Mr Thomas — Lynden Christian High School English
Authors use classification to demonstrate the their thorough understanding of a subject. When you can rattle off the different degrees of understanding, you come across as well read and conscientous (if you do it too much, you sounds like a know-it-all). Classification helps shape your voice, giving it legitimacy, but it needs to be used in conjunction with the other rhetorical forms. Write using a pathos-argument, with a didactic tone.
Assignment (Two Parts):
Before doing this, do Device 7 Section in Literary Devices Workbook and utilize it in your writing – when you use this device, WRITE THE SENTENCES IN ALL CAPS — that will show me you understand the concept.
