UW in the Classroom

Discovering Worlds Past and Present

Outcome 1 – Revising

Using Plato, Black Mirror, and Zeitgeist (the 9-11 documentary), consider where you find yourself a prisoner.  Write a fully developed essay (Introduction, Body, Conclusion) that integrates the ideas of these texts into your own life and experiences. For instance, Black Mirror examines our relationship to entertainment; explain that idea and then compare it to something you see in your life and experience.

This will be our first encounter with UW’s four Writing Outcomes.  This being a formal, analytical paper you should “read, analyze, and synthesize complex texts into your writing.”  Don’t obsess with this draft being perfect.  After Peer Review, we will experiment with strategies that will help you revise your argument.
