UW in the Classroom

Summative Assessment —

Essays are the place where you demonstrate your knowledge of your research, wrestle with the content, and demonstrate your master over our writing expectations.  They are longer exercises; they require some research, some reading, much reflecting, and they, better than most things we do in class, demonstrate how much you understand about our classroom goals and outcomes.  They are worth 20-POINTS, and are due at the beginning of the class period on the due date.  Because they are worth so much of your grade, you can hand papers in late, but they will be reduced 10% every day they are late (up to three days, when they will receive a ZERO in the grade book.
